Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival was named to the Czech Republic’s hockey team for the Winter Olympics this afternoon.
It’s the first Olympic call for Rozsival, who won his first Stanley Cup last season with the Blackhawks. Rozsival did play on the Czech Republic’s gold-medal team in the 2010 IIHF World Championships in Cologne, Germany.
Rozsival has continued to rotate in and out as the Blackhawks’ sixth defenseman this season.
Former Blackhawks forward Michael Frolik was also named to the Czech Republic team today.
