Less than a year ago, the Blackhawks sold vials of melted ice from the United Center following their 2013 Stanley Cup winning season in an effort to raise money for the Chicago Blackhawks Charities.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are another team that annually sells the remains of their home ice for charity at the end of each regular-season. But this year, NBCSN has taken it a step further.

Instead of pouring the ice away following the regular-season, NBC has created Ice Pops — which has been purified and flavored — for each NHL team in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs using water collected from each remaining playoff team's rink.

NBC's ice pop trucks have already reached three of the four Western Conference cities — Minnesota, Los Angeles, and Anaheim — and were handed out in Chicago on Friday.
