Brandon Saad will be back in the lineup but Teuvo Teravainen’s debut will have to wait a few more days as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Nashville Predators tonight at the United Center.
Saad suffered an upper-body injury against the Detroit Red Wings last Sunday and missed the last three games. While he returns, Bryan Bickell (upper body) and Michal Rozsival (lower body) are still out. Corey Crawford will get the start for the Blackhawks.
Meanwhile, as far as Teravainen, coach Joel Quenneville said there’s “a good chance” he plays Tuesday against the Dallas Stars. Teravainen has skated with several Blackhawks and the assistant coaches the past few days.
When Teravainen does play — and Quenneville saying there’s a good chance he plays Tuesday pretty much means he will play Tuesday — Quenneville said they’ll pace him.
“Usually you give him a chance to play the game an see how he handles it. You put him in situations if you’re comfortable with the way things are going,” Quenneville said. “But you want to at least get him in there, give him a chance to play and see how it progresses from there.”
Pekka Rinne is expected to start for the Nashville Predators.
