Rocky Wirtz cannot wait for the Stanley Cup playoffs to get going.

Blackhawks fans can relate.

CSN's Luke Stuckmeyer caught up with the Blackhawks chairman at the 3rd annual Gift of Adoption Fundraiser at the University Club of Chicago Thursday and Wirtz's anticipation was palpable.

"It's exciting," Wirtz said. "It seems like it's been a long time with the Olympics and we didn't have a home game in February. It's like the 'Waiting for Godot,' it's 'The NeverEnding Story.'

"We've been waiting for it and waiting for it. I think we're going to be healthy and ready to go. Next Wednesday or Thursday should be exciting, wherever we're going to be."

Speaking of health, Wirtz admitted he was holding his breath when franchise cornerstones Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane suffered late-season injuries, but knows both players will be ready to go next week.
