2012 NFL Draft Capsule: OT Matt Kalil

Share

Matt Kalil (OT), USC
6-6300 lbs.
Projection:
Top 5

Strengths:
Kalil is nimble and plays on his feet, has sound posture in pass protection and churns through blocks and works to finish. (National Football Post)

Weaknesses:
Can add bulk to his frame and increase finishing strength. Shows some stiffness in space when trying to pick off targets and is not an elite foot athlete. (National Football Post)

Fit for the Bears:
Sure, the Bears would love to take a franchise left tackle with NFL bloodlines, but Kalil is projected to be selected as high as No. 3 overall. The chances of Kalil falling outside the top five are slim. Even if he were to fall, it would be a shock to see Chicago mortgage its future to nab him.
