My gut feeling was the Bears would go after one of the big wide receivers if they were still on the board in the second round.
It would be interesting to know if the Bears would have went with Stephen Hill if he was there over Alshon Jeffery.
At the beginning of the 2011 season, Jeffery was considered by many to be a first round caliber player. He hurt his draft stock by not staying in shape and letting his weight balloon. If he's motivated, the Bears will have two massive wideouts in Jeffery and Brandon Marshall that can create matchup nightmares for opposing defenses.
Jay Cutler has to be thrilled that he has these type of skilled players surrounding him for the 2012 season.
Also, I like that the Bears are approaching the draft in terms of looking for players that can contribute now and not two or three years down the road. The expectations should be high for Jeffery and Thursday's first rounder Shea McClellin.
Nobody knows how a player will turn out, but if they evaluated these players properly it could be a big boost on both sides of the football.
