Nobody is surprised to hear that Aaron Rodgers wants to finish his career in Green Bay where he's had great success during his 5 years as the starter. His presence alone keeps the wheels spinning at Halas hall for the Bears brass knowing Rodgers and the Packers remain the team to beat in the division.

Jay Cutler was supposed to be the answer to closing the gap, but in 4 years that has not happened.

Every decision the Bears make this off season, whether through the draft of free agency, will be geared to winning the division, which means being better than the Packers.
The Problem for the Bears is that if Rodgers plays another 8 years like he recently stated, then the Bears need an answer. That could be a great defense, and they have played him better than most teams, or an offense that can be prolific and consistent .

Regardless, if Rodgers plays close to another decade there will be no easy path to winning the division for Marc Trestman and company.
