Bears' second-round draft pick Alshon Jeffery is putting his workouts first. After questions circulated during his senior year at South Carolina about his conditioning efforts, Jeffery is taking the initiative to make sure the possibility any doubts in the future are eliminated.

Jeffery announced he will not attent the 2012 NFL Rookie Premier and will spend that time working and attending the Bears' offseason programs. The Premier is held in Los Angeles each year after the draft to celebrate some of the league's top new talent.

So far, the Bears' new wide receiver has worked out with some of his new teammates, including backup quarterback Josh McCowan, who was very impressed with Jeffery's mentality, motivation, and work ethic since the draft. Jeffery has quick hands and is a very physical player, which will greatly benefit the Bears, especially as the temperature drops throughout the season.

Jeffery's excited to be playing in Chicago and is already showing a strong effort to step up his workouts in preparation for the start of the season.
