Jake Flannigan

Dee Milliner (CB), Alabama

6-0 | 201 lbs.

2012 Stats:

54 tackles, 2 INT, 22 PD

Projection:

1st Round

Strengths:

Solid in almost every aspect of his defense. Milliner’s quick feet allow him to stay with receivers in coverage and explode in containment while defending the run game. Height and athleticism keep him in every play. Strong hands that consistently knock the ball loose while battling receivers in the air. Proved that his speed is better than most at his position.

Weaknesses:

Played on a stacked defense all three seasons at Alabama. Can he shine with less talent around him? Some scouts believe he plays too aggressively at times and could improve his backpedal.

Fit for Bears:

Milliner would be a tremendous addition to the Bears, but nearly all mock drafts have him as a Top 10 lock. Sure, the Bears have Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings returning after Pro Bowl seasons, but to bring in a young talent like Milliner would be ideal for the future. Unfortunately there is almost no shot Milliner will slip anywhere near where the Bears select in the first round.
