Kapron Lewis-Moore (DE), Notre Dame

6-4 | 298 lbs

2012 Stats:

40 tackles, 8 1/2 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

Projection:

Undrafted free agent

Strengths:

Has a good motor, uses his hands well. Can get into the backfield and stop the run. Is a smart player, which helped compensate for his lack of top-end athletic ability. Worked his way up Notre Dame's depth chart and was well-respected by his teammates.

Weaknesses:

Has a long history of knee injuries, including a torn ACL suffered in the BCS Championship that likely means he'll have to sign on as an undrafted free agent (he could've been a mid-to-late-round pick without the injury). Could struggle against bigger and faster NFL offensive lines, too.

Fit for the Bears:

He could add some defensive end depth late in the season at best, if he returns from his ACL injury within 10 or so months of it happening. Lewis-Moore probably won't have a chance to do much in the league, though, until 2014.
