Bennie Logan (DT), LSU

6-2 | 309 lbs.

2012 Stats:

45 TKLS, 5.5 TFL, 2 SKS, 3 PD, FF, 2 BLKS

Projection:

4th-5th rd.

Strengths:

Ideal size and strength for a defensive tackle with a thick lower half and strong arms. Quick off the line at the snap and possesses the ability to slip through gaps. Can shed blocks and uses his power to help slow down the running game. Moves well laterally and shows good hustle to go along with his athleticism. Maximum effort guy and strong tackler.

Weaknesses:

Does not possess upper echelon speed or quickness and may actually be subbed out on 3rd-and-long or other passing situations. Can be overaggressive at times and his stamina can be problematic. Will not be able to play every snap, regardless of performance. Does not handle cut blocks well and is more of a run-stopper than a pass-rusher.

Fit for the Bears:

The Bears are pretty set on the defensive line, but if they are unable to sign Henry Melton to a long-term deal, they may need some help at defensive tackle, in particular. If Logan is still there in the later rounds, the Bears may take a chance on the high-motor LSU product as a long-term project.
