Scott Krinch

Kenny Stills (WR), Oklahoma

6-0 | 194 lbs.

2012 Stats:

82 REC, 959 YDS, 11 TD

Projection:

4th Round

Strengths:

Uses his body to adjust to the ball, staying under control and making highlight reel catches. Sneaky speed with the ability to separate from defenders off the line of scrimmage. Good hands and able to pluck the ball in the air at its highest point. Solid blocker and doesn't shy away from physical contact. Played both on the outside and in the slot while at Oklahoma. Fierce competitor.

Weaknesses:

Average size and doesn't have the frame to add much more muscle mass. Struggles against more physical cornerbacks. Decent speed, but not elite. Had his share of drops with the Sooners. Inconsistent at times. Trash talks on the field which could lead to more penalties at the next level. Several off-the-field incidents, including a DUI have scouts questioning his maturity.

Fit for the Bears:

Is wide receiver an area of need for the Bears? The team is set with Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Earn Bennett as their top three wideouts, but after that there are question marks. Devin Hester and Eric Weems are more of a threat in the return game and Johnny Knox was released in the offseason. Phil Emery needs to find a slot receiver that can fill the role that Knox did and Stills could be the perfect fit. He's a bit of a "hot-head" on the field, but playing alongside a veteran Bears roster could fix those issues. The former Sooner has a knack for making the big play and would probably just cost the Bears a late-round selection.
