Sick Bay: Wright ruled out for Sunday

The near-total good health of the off week following the Tampa Bay game is officially a thing of the past at this critical juncture, with starting safety Major Wright joining Jay Cutler and Matt Forte as officially out of Sundays game in Denver.

The Bears have no other players on their injury report. But this takes a third starter out of the lineup and means that the Bears will open with their eighth different starting safety pairing in 12 games (Chris Conte-Craig Steltz). And that is not including right tackle Gabe Carimi, out for the year from a knee injury in the New Orleans game.

Wright suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to Kansas City and will miss his third game due to injury this season after missing the first five games last season with a hamstring injury. He went out of the New Orleans game and missed Green Bay with a head injury and was inactive against the Buccaneers due to a hip injury.

The Broncos are expected to have Willis McGahee back from a foot injury after the No. 1 running back was able to practice for the first time Friday and is listed as questionable. Receiver Eddie Royal (concussion) also is listed as questionable.
