After falling to the Ducks in a shootout on home ice Tuesday night, the Hawks will face the Sharks tonight for the second time this year. Catch all the action on Comcast SportsNet, beginning with Blackhawks Pregame Live at 7:00.

The last time the Blackhawks and Sharks met, things were a little different. Back on Feb. 5, the Hawks went to San Jose to face off against the No. 2 team in the league; a team that only suffered one loss in regulation and sat just two points behind Chicago in the standings. The Blackhawks went on to win that game, 5-3.

Tonight the two will meet for the second time in the shortened 2013 campaign. The Sharks (7-3-3) are coming into the game following a shutout loss in overtime against the Predators. In fact, San Jose hasn't recorded a single win since Jan. 31. After winning their first seven games of the season, they've dropped six in a row.

Now San Jose ranks No. 4 in the Western Conference standings and the Blackhawks (10-0-3) hold a solid six-point lead over their opponent.

Patrick Marleau continues to lead the Sharks with 10 goals and five assists this season, but his early-season hype has started to trail off. After becoming the first Sharks player in history to record four consecutive multi-goal games at the start of a season, Marleau has only found the back of the net twice since Jan. 26. Joe Thornton has also recorded a total of 15 points this season -- three goals, 12 assists -- but like Marleau, he's recorded just two assists since Jan. 27.

Despite recent struggles, you can still expect the Sharks to put up a tough fight tonight. They're still a top team in the conference and, if anything, they're especially hungry for a win.

The Blackhawks and Sharks will meet again in Chicago on Feb. 22 for their third and final matchup of the regular season.
