The Blackhawks selected 19-year-old Mark McNeill with their first pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (No. 18 overall).
After the draft, the 6-2, 210-pound center played 69 games for the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL and scored 31 goals with 40 assists before joining the Rockford IceHogs for the final seven games of their season, where he didn't record a point.
McNeill might be a big part of the Blackhawks future, and gave fans some insight on the type of person he is off the ice in an interview for IceHogs IceBreakers on Blackhawks.com.
Of note, McNeill is currently wearing No. 17 and lists his nickname as "Mac." His favorite TV show is Entourage, he likes to go fishing and eat steak. McNeill also said he'd rather be on the cover of GQ magazine than Sports Illustrated. His hockey idol is Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf and he has a case of arachnophobia, listing spiders as his worst fear.
If McNeill takes after Getzlaf, the Blackhawks will have another terrific center on their roster for years to come.
