Keys to success against Ducks

Konroyd’s Keys:

1: Don’t change the recipe at home:  As often happens after a long road trip, the first game back is always dangerous for the home team.   I think the biggest problem for the players is trying to do too much.  Trying to be too cute with the puck and put on a show for their fans.  That’s not what earned them 4 straight wins on the road.  It was simple hockey, and they have to keep that up at home.

2:  Use your speed on Ducks D: Anaheim’s defensive men are big, but don’t have great foot speed.  Their average height back there is 6’3” and their average weight is 220 lbs.  The Blackhawks have shown the NHL that they have the speediest, skilled forwards in the NHL.  Use it against this D to create turnovers and cycle pucks down low.

3:  Keep the D involved in the Offense: Loved the way the Blackhawks defensive men were getting involved in the play in Nashville.  As a unit they’ve combined for 23 points in 12 games.  They are capable of contributing a little bit more, like they did against the Predators.  This game presents a great opportunity to do that.
