1: It’s all about defense: The Blackhawks have only allowed five goals in their last five games. They have won them all with stifling defense. Dallas has scored 20 goals in its last five games and have won them all with impressive offense. This can’t be a run-and-gun game for Chicago. It’s patient, playoff hockey...wait for your chances and then bury the biscuit.
2: Power play needs a rebirth: After going eight games without scoring a power play goal, the Blackhawks will see a team they have had a lot of success with the man-advantage against. The Hawks have scored five goals on 13 opportunities in the previous two games with Dallas. In fact, the Hawks had the No. 1 ranked power play in the NHL after their first game against Dallas on Jan. 24. Chicago needs some confidence going into the playoffs with their power play and this could be the night.
3: Stars getting it done without Stars: At the trade deadline Dallas was a seller, getting rid of Jaromir Jagr and Derek Roy. Brenden Morrow was dealt a week before the deadline, too. What they have done since then is remarkable. They have done it with role players getting more ice time and rookies getting a chance to play. You can’t take this team lightly...they have nothing to lose and are having fun playing hockey.
