Patrick Sharp has been named a Stanley Cup winner, one of Chicago's 'Most Beautiful', and has achieved countless accomplishments throughout his career.

But none can equal the importance of the name he's about to be awarded in the upcoming weeks -- 'Dad'. He and his wife, Abby, are preparing for parenthood as they anxiously wait to welcome their first-born daughter into the world.

Chicago Tribune's Chris Kuc caught up with Sharpie to get the details about just how he's handling the excitement of becoming a father.

"Waiting for that phone call is definitely weighing on my mind," Sharp said. "But as a pro athlete you kind of put those things aside while you're at the rink, focus on what's important at that moment -- which is hockey -- and as soon as the game is over get home and be the best husband you can."
