Toews, Hjalmarsson, Montador won't join Hawks on trip

The Chicago Blackhawks are going on their last big road trip before the trade deadline. But they'll be going into this important two-game series without several key members.

Jonathan Toews will not travel to Los Angeles and Anaheim, nor will defensemen Niklas Hjalmarsson and Steve Montador, as the Blackhawks take on the Kings on Saturday and the Ducks on Sunday.

Toews has been out since earlier this week with possible concussion-related symptoms. He was also in a one-car accident downtown on Thursday morning but the Blackhawks said he was fine. Whether that or his previous injury is keeping him off the road is uncertain.

Meanwhile, Hjalmarsson may have suffered a setback. The defenseman returned last night, playing just over 16 minutes in the Blackhawks' 3-1 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Montador remains on injured reserve after getting hurt against Colorado in early February.
