With the Blackhawks basically playing a game every other day, their off days are a precious commodity. That didn’t stop Jonathan Toews from dropping by our Comcast SportsNet studio on Monday to discuss the Hawks' amazing start.
During his appearance on SportsTalk Live, we asked fans to weigh in on their favorite Toews moment from the first 22 games of the season. If you need a quick refresher on No. 19’s top plays, click on this link.
While Toews' killer cross-over on Oliver Ekman-Larrson was one of the best you’ll see, the Captain’s pass to Brent Seabrook for the game-winning goal over Columbus is the play that gets my nod.
At first you figured Seabrook had to call for the pass, until Brent shot down that theory in the postgame press conference. Then there was a hypothesis that I had never heard before. Toews looked at the glass and saw the reflection of Seabrook barreling in on Steve Mason, so he fired him the puck. That premise was posed to Toews during his visit to CSN and he responded as “Captain, are you serious?”
