Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom, who was supposed to be the Game 1 starter against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight, is out after leaving warmups early.

It’s unclear what happened to Backstrom, other than he was injured during the pregame warmups here at the United Center. He went off with some help.

Josh Harding will start the game instead of Backstrom for the Wild. Harding went 5-1-1 in the regular season with a 3.24 goals-against average. Harding has started just one previous postseason game, back in 2007-08.
