Bulls' "Bench Mob" member and fan favorite Brian Scalabrine has had some free time since the Bulls were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Sixers. The 34-year-old NBA veteran landed a gig as a studio analyst with CSN New England throughout their coverage of the Celtics playoff series with Philadelphia.

Technically, Scalabrine is still a member of the Bulls until his contract expires at the end of June. The front office could still bring him back for another season. Although Scalabrine is hoping to continue his NBA career, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of coaching down the road.

In an interview with the Boston Herald, Scalabrine shared his thoughts on coaching once his playing career comes to an end.

That didnt seem like a life that I wanted to live or a road that I wanted to go down. But with talking to our coaches and even with Doc, its more about the relationships you build. Docs relationship with Kevin and Rondo and even me, who never really played much," Scalabrine said. "Those are bonds. I still have a bond with Doc. I think thats the thing thats kind of pulling me back toward coaching. Its that camaraderie that you get with a team in basketball.

If coaching doesn't work out for Scalabrine, he could give broadcasting a shot.

Whatever happens, I dont think Ill leave basketball, even if I just do color commentary on games. I dont really think Id be a very good studio guy, but I think I could do a really good job with color commentary.
