AUBURN HILLS, MICH. Rip Hamilton will start for Wednesdays game against the Pistons, and the reaction in the Palace at Auburn Hills will be interesting.

Hamilton, a 13-year veteran, former All-Star and longtime Piston helped win a championship for Detroit in 2004 and is considered one of the franchises all-time greats.

Still, his past few seasons with the organization were tumultuous and some observers held him along with fellow veterans, such as current Atlanta Hawk Tracy McGrady and longtime teammates Tayshaun Prince and Ben Wallace, a former Bull responsible for a mutiny that eventually led to the ouster of former Pistons head coach John Kuester.

But Hamilton has fond memories of his time in Motown and is excited to return to the Palace, as he expressed to reporters after Tuesday nights Bulls dramatic comeback win over the Hawks in Chicago, of which he sat out due to a groin injury that has caused him to miss two consecutive games.

Ill have mixed emotions, he said. That team was special. The fans were excellent. Im going to enjoy it. I just dont know how Im going to act. When I get to the arena, Im sure it will be emotional.
