Dale Sveum's coaching staff is taking form after the Cubs hired Chris Bosio as their new pitching coach Friday, according to postcrescent.com.

Sveum worked with Bosio on the Milwaukee Brewers coaching staff for a few months at the end of the 2009 season and received permission to speak with him just five days after being named Cubs manager on Nov. 17.

All of those long-suffering Cubs fans, their will to win, their want to win, their passion to win, its going to be a lot of good energy, said Bosio.

The former major-league pitcher was serving as the Brewers' Triple-A pitching coach in Nashville.

Its going to be agonizing at times, and rewarding as well. Thats the rigors of the season. But were going to try and create some magic at Wrigley," Bosio said.

Bosio and Sveum have known one another since they played high school football against one another in California in 1979. Both were drafted by the Brewers and were teammates from 1986-91.
