Edwin Jackson will make his Wrigley Field debut in a Cubs uniform Monday, as the North Siders take on the Milwaukee Brewers. Jackson is 0-1 this season after taking the loss in Pittsburgh last week. He allowed just two runs over five innings, but the Cubs offense struggled against Pirates starter Wandy Rodriguez. Jackson has made three starts in Wrigley Field with a record of 1-2 and a 7.94 earned run average.
The Brewers send Marco Estrada, who gave up four earned runs and nine hits over five innings against the Rockies in his season debut, to the mound.
The Cubs and Brewers both come into the series looking to bounce back from rough weekends. Milwaukee is off to a 1-5 start at Miller Park where they were just swept by Arizona. Injuries have been an issue for the Brew Crew. Former Cub Aramis Ramirez is on the disabled list with a sore knee and Ryan Braun has missed the last three games with neck spasms. Milwaukee dominated the series last season, winning 13 of the 17 games against the Cubs.
On the Cubs injury front, Darwin Barney is expected to have the stitches removed from his knee on Monday. He's still a couple days away from beginning a rehab assignment. The earliest Barney can return from the disabled list is April 16 against the Texas Rangers.
