This is hardly a bold assertion -- it's been long-speculated that the only man in baseball who could truly keep Zambrano in line is Ozzie Guillen. That's why Zambrano was linked to the White Sox in previous years, with some going so far as to suggest the Cubs and Sox swap Zambrano for Jake Peavy (in short: that'd never happen).

Anybody? I guess we're just glossing over the whole Nick Swisher debacle, then. Or Brandon McCarthy and Brian Anderson, two guys Ozzie reportedly didn't care for. When Ozzie doesn't like a player, generally, that player gets shipped out of town.
Also, even without a blowup, Zambrano's skillset has been in decline for the past few years, and if his fastball continues to lose velocity he'll struggle regardless of how good an attitude he has.
