The Cubs-Cardinals rivalry hasn't been too fierce over the past couple of seasons.

While the Cubs have racked up 299 losses since the start of the 2010 season, the Cardinals have won 284 games in that same span, including the 2011 World Series and came just one win away from another bid in the Fall Classic last season.

So maybe Mike Bailey was just trying to spice up the rivalry a bit with his column Monday night (h/t Hardball Talk).

"There is something ghastly about watching the St. Louis Cardinals play the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field akin to watching the prom queen dance with Quasimodo in a fetid alley," Bailey wrote on kmov.com.

I guess the Cardinals are the prom queen in this case. Hmmm.

Bailey then calls St. Louis' Busch Stadium "baseball heaven" while saying Wrigley Field is "a sort of baseball hell."
