The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned Jeremy Morin and Jimmy Hayes to the Rockford IceHogs on Tuesday morning.

The moves seem to indicate that Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp (shoulder injuries) will be back on the active roster, and possibly back in the lineup, on Thursday when the Blackhawks host the St. Louis Blues. Both said they were close to returning when they talked after Monday’s morning skate. Coach Joel Quenneville said giving them today and Wednesday for a little extra recovery time was a luxury the team had, with where they are in the standings.

Morin was called up before the Blackhawks headed to Detroit. He scored his first goal of the season on his first shift – and the Blackhawks’ first shot on goal – in the Blackhawks’ 7-1 victory over the Red Wings on Sunday.

Hayes has three points in nine games with the Blackhawks this season. He was tied for the Rockford team lead in goals (22) at the time he was recalled to Chicago (March 12).
