Buehrle down to three teams

Brace yourselves, everybody.

According to Jon Heyman, the Mark Buehrle sweepstakes are down to three teams. Yesterday, Buehrle narrowed his search to five teams, with reports confirming interest from the Marlins, Nationals and Rangers.

Texas may not be completely sold on Buehrle, though. Maybe they're eliminated from Buehrle's list of suitors, which would open the door for a team like Minnesota, even if they can't offer as much money as the Marlins or Nationals.

The smart money still appears to be on Buehrle going to Miami, as CSNChicago's Chuck Garfien has reported all week. And given Kenny Williams' comments yesterday, it looks like the White Sox are out of the running for Buehrle, barring a last-second change of heart.
