Cespedes hits first homer in DWL

Yoenis Cespedes has only three hits in 23 at-bats in the Dominican Winter League, but one of those three hits was this:

That 97 mph fastball went a long way and was Cespedes' first home run in the DWL.

While Cespedes has struggled, 23 rough at-bats is hardly enough to curb his appeal. He hadn't faced live pitching in quite a while before appearing in the DWL while facing pitchers who had some winter innings already under their belt.

Plus, it's only 23 at-bats. And while he's struck out six times in six games, half of those strikeouts came in his DWL debut.

The Cubs reportedly have shown the most interest in signing the 26-year-old Cuban, while Dayan Viciedo has recruited Cespedes to play for the White Sox.
