Strengths

A two-sport national champion at Louisiana State University, he has a quick bat and is willing to work the count. Has good speed and is aggressive on the basepaths; also is a solid defender in center field.

Weaknesses

Although he’s patient, it has hurt him as he often falls behind in the count and has struck out 402 times in 293 professional games. Has a long swing and needs to improve versus lefties.

He said it

On his performance in big league camp: “Pretty good. I enjoy an opportunity where the stage is biggest. It’s always fun to be able to do that. I’ve just got to keep working and keep giving myself a chance to get back to that situation.”
