Peavy confident despite losing homefield advantage

KANSAS CITY --- Jake Peavy isnt upset with the All-Star Game format even though the American Leagues 8-0 loss on Tuesday could cost the White Sox.

By virtue of the loss to the National League in the All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium, the AL Championship Series winner will only have the opportunity to host the middle three games of the World Series this postseason. The NL winner will host Games 1 and 2 and 6 and 7, if needed.

The format has been scrutinized since it began in 2003 because homefield advantage is determined by the final result of an exhibition contest.

But Peavy said homefield advantage wont matter to the White Sox if they reach the Fall Classic anyway.

I promise you this, if we play in the World Series, I dont give a dang who has got homefield advantage, Peavy said. Its nice to have it, dont get me wrong. But if the Chicago White Sox play, and we have to play on the road the first few games, thats not going to matter.

Peavy and teammate Adam Dunn were two of seven players to not appear in Tuesdays exhibition. Paul Konerko was hit by a pitch and Chris Sale pitched a scoreless inning.
