Sox players weigh in on Ventura

The early returns on Robin Ventura's first spring training as a manager? Positive. The White Sox held their first workout of 2012 Thursday in Glendale, and Matt Thornton, Tyler Flowers, A.J. Pierzynski and Jake Peavy weighed in on their new skipper.

"I think he brings a new kind of attitude to the team," Flowers said. "You can already kind of see it with some of the guys when we were at SoxFest, just guys really kind of enjoying themselves again instead of all that pressure and negativity in years past."

If you're looking for a reason for optimism, maybe just having a fresh face managing the team will jump-start a few players into key rebound seasons.
