The White Sox made a move to bolster their outfield depth on Monday when they acquired Casper Wells from the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations.

The 28-year-old outfielder has spent time with the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays this year. Wells has only played in three games in 2013, going a combined 0-for-5 at the plate.

Wells sports a career .261 average with seven home runs and 20 RBI.

The White Sox placed pitcher Leyson Septimo on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Wells on the 40-man roster.
