From the weekend:
Good stuff here on the new White Sox marketing slogan.
Former Cubs manager Mike Quade, hypothetically offering advice to Robin Ventura, detailed the importance of relying on one's coaching staff as a first-year manager. Good thing Don Cooper and Harold Baines are still around (in addition to Mark Parent, etc.).
Gerardo Concepcion went to the Cubs, but Jorge Soler and Yoenis Cespedes both remain free agents -- and the Sox still have a chance to sign either of the Cuban outfielders. James thinks Concepcion's contract, though, is reason to believe the Sox won't get involved in a bidding war for SolerCespedes. Fornelli agrees.
As if there was any doubt, Ventura confirmed Paul Konerko will still be the team captain.
Magglio Ordonez is still hanging around, although having to fight your way on to the surely-doomed Oakland Athletics is hardly a glamorous avenue to continuing one's career.
Finally, Jim did some good pitch-fx research regarding Matt Thornton's offspeed pitch.
