Peavy: Ozzie quit, not me

Jake Peavy and Ozzie Guillen have exchanged fire this offseason, although Peavy's comments on Ozzie Guillen in December (his departure "needed to happen") were quickly hugged out on twitter.

On Saturday, Peavy fired another shot Guillen's way. Appearing on WSCR-AM 670, Peavy, when asked about allegations he quit on the White Sox last season, said "I would never quit on a team...Ozzie didn't finish the season with us the last (two) games. So I don't know who quit on who."

The decision to shut Peavy down toward the end of the season was made by Kenny Williams and Don Cooper, not Guillen. To be fair, Guillen had probably already checked out by that point, with his heart set on Miami.

Peavy specifically referred to the last two games of the 2011 season, which Guillen did not manage, although he wouldn't have been out of bounds had he said Guillen quit on the White Sox much, much earlier.
