NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Stu Jackson announced Saturday night that Bulls guard Rip Hamilton has been suspended one game without pay for throwing an elbow to the face of Raptors' DeMar DeRozan during Friday's loss. Hamilton was ejected from the contest and received a flagrant-two foul on the play.
The veteran shooting guard will serve his suspension against the Heat Sunday afternoon and will return to the lineup against the Magic Monday night.
Hamilton had missed nearly half of the Bulls games this season with a lower-back injury and returned to the team unexpectedly in Tuesday's loss to Toronto.
In 48 games this season, Hamilton is averaging 10.1 PPG in 22.2 minutes per game.
