According to a report by the Miami Sun-Sentinel, the Chicago Bulls are scheduled to open the 2013-14 NBA season against the Miami Heat in South Beach.

The preliminary NBA schedule has the Bulls and the Heat matching up on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at American Airlines Arena-- where the Heat will receive their 2013 championship rings.

The Bulls aren't the only Chicago team to open their season against defending champions. The Blackhawks played their 2013 season-opener in Los Angeles as the Kings raised their championship banner. The Hawks won handily by a score of 5-2 and the rest of the 2013 season worked out pretty well for them, too.

The Bulls hope to mirror the Blackhawks' success in their opener vs. the Heat and going forward in the rest of the 2013-14 season.

Although the official 2013-14 NBA schedule is due to be released next week and revisions are possible, few changes are expected to be made.
