After sustaining his injury, Derrick Rose laid low to work on getting healthy again and getting back on the court for this season.

After months of hard work and preparation, Rose is finally ready for his first in depth interview post injury.

Bulls TV sat down with the star point guard to talk about his road to recovery.

"I just wanted to rebuild my leg and be around my son," said Rose in response to why he said away from the media during his recovery.

Rose said missing an entire season of basketball was one of the hardest things he has ever done in his life, but he has never been more focused.

"When you have an injury like this there are stages you have to go through. I'm still going through my stages, I'm not done yet." said Rose. "This the most I have ever worked on my craft, the most focused I've ever been in my NBA career."

Rose explained how grateful he was for the support his teammates gave him throughout his recovery and how impressed he was by the run his teammates had this season.

Aside from getting game ready, a press release states Rose's new shoe by Adidas and designer Jeremy Scott hits select stores worldwide on July 6th.

“I can’t thank Jeremy enough for creating this shoe,” said Rose. “I love sneakers and to have Jeremy take his time to create a shoe for me is crazy. This shoe is so cool, and having a chance to meet with Jeremy and talk about how he comes up with some of his designs was really fun.”
