Adidas launches Rose's 'Michigan Avenue' sneaker

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose seems to wear his civic pride on his sleeve, even when designing his signature shoe.

Adidas Basketball launched the D Rose 4 Monday afternoon.

The shoe, “Michigan Avenue,” is aptly named for the popular Chicago street. According to the Adidas website, the shoe features tones of deep blue to represent the bodies of water that the city has. Also, with the bright infrared the shoe has is an adaptation of the bright lights and livelihood of Michigan avenue.

Rose told Adidas that his latest shoe concept should mirror what he loves about being a Chicago native.

“I’ve been all over the world but Chicago will always be my home,” Rose said. “Everybody in this city is so proud to be from here, man. That’s why I love this color of my shoe that me and my fans can wear to represent the city.”

The shoe features consists of the D Rose logo on the tongue and collar along made of three petals that revolve around the letter "D" and number "1" in the center

The Adidas D Rose 4 “Michigan Avenue” sneaker will be available to the public on Nov. 23.
