D.J. Augustin won't be returning to Chicago after signing a two-year deal with the division-rival Pistons on Sunday, according to a report from TNT's David Aldridge.

Augustin's return to the Bulls seemed unlikely, especially after the team re-signed point guard Kirk Hinrich earlier Sunday.

Augustin was great for the Bulls a season ago after coming over in the middle of the year. He averaged 14.9 points per game and five assists per game in 61 games after coming over from Toronto. He served as an offensive threat for the Bulls at the point guard position following the injury to Derrick Rose.
Rose's return, as well as Hinrich's, crowded out Augustin, as did the Bulls' ensuing battle with the salary cap. The Bulls will see quite a bit of him, though, as Augustin remains in the Central Division with Detroit.
