A day after being amnestied by the Bulls, power forward Carlos Boozer was acquired by the Lakers.
The Lakers put in the highest bid during a blind bidding process amongst teams with salary-cap space and that number will represent Boozer's 2014-15 salary.
The Bulls will pay the difference between that and the final year of the five-year contract he signed in 2010--$16.8 million--though it won't count against their salary cap.
While the Lakers, who have yet to hire a head coach to replace Mike D'Antoni, are far from being a title contender, Boozer will team up with his friend Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles and should be a productive player.
In related news, the Bulls will introduce Spanish power forwards Pau Gasol and rookie Nikola Mirotic in a press conference Friday.
