Bulls Road Ahead: Bouncing back awful defensive performance

CSN's Chuck Garfien and Vincent Goodwill break down the Bulls recent blowout against the Charlotte Hornets and a big matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder in this week's Bulls Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Honda dealers.

A lack of defensive effort is something Bulls fans haven't seen from their team in a long time.

But that was sadly the case on Tuesday when Fred Hoiberg's squad fell to the Charlotte Hornets, 130-105. The Hornets shot over 50 percent from the field, over 60 percent from behind the arc and went to the free throw line 23 times on the evening.

None of the Bulls were happy at all with the performance, calling it everything from 'unexplainable' to 'soft.'

"I think it was one game and it's fixable," Goodwill said. "But they can't come out there with that type of effort against any other team let alone who's coming up next on the calendar. They didn't compete at all. It was too many easy baskets, too many straight line drives. Nobody helped each other. They've taken accountability for it."

Check out what else Goodwill and Garfien discussed about the Bulls start to the season in the video above as well as a preview to a big showdown against Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and the Thunder on Thursday.
