Several NBA players and employees with ties to Chicago came out in full force to support The Second Annual Peace Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

The tournament was created in 2012 for the purpose of bringing rival gang members together to face off on the basketball court, instead of the violent streets. The event was held at St. Sabina's Church gymnasium in Chicago.

Former Bulls player and current Charlotte Bobcats guard Jannero Pargo, who is from the Englewood area and attended Paul Robeson High School, was happy to be involved with the tournament.

“This event is very important, I feel like I have to be here to show love and support,” Pargo said. “I want to help the city of Chicago get back to where to use to be, a safe environment for families and kids.”
