The rumors were there that Kevin Love might end up in a Bulls uniform, then they weren't, and now they're back again.
So what's really going on in the Bulls front office? Bulls general manager Gar Forman gave an update Wednesday morning during the Kap and Haugh Show.
"It's our job to have conversations with everybody around the league and get a feel of what's happening, who might be available," said Forman. "Any time there is something that is available that we feel can improve our team, we've got to take a look at it. That's our job. But we like where we're at and the additions we made."
Taj Gibson appears to be the main centerpiece in those conversations to acquire Love, with Doug McDermott and Nikola Mirotic recently added in the latest trade rumors. Forman didn't confirm if Gibson was indeed part of those rumors, but one thing is clear: he values him.
"We really really value Taj. I think he's made great strides the last couple years. I think this past year offensively, he shot the ball well. He's become very crafty in the post, he's got terrific foot work," said Forman. "If you look at analytics — and analytics and statistics are part of the process — he's become a top 5 defender in this league. He's a big part of what we do on both ends of the floor. So he's very very valued."
