Coming off a contest in which he broke out of a two-game slump in the Bulls win Friday over Dallas with a 17-point, 18-rebound effort, power forward Taj Gibson missed the teams practices in Los Angeles Sunday and Monday with a foot injury.

I stressed some kind of a ligament in my foot during the drills at Sundays Bulls practice. They said I aggravated it. They wanted me to sit out. Were going to go see the doctor today, said Gibson before the teams practice at UCLA Monday. Gibson injured his foot during defensive slides. I didnt turn my ankle or anything. It was just the side of my foorthe nerve on the side of my footthey said it got tingled.

Im just hoping its not more serious than what it is. Bulls team trainer Fred Tedeschi wanted me to sit out today, he continued. They dont know about Tuesdays game. Were going to see the doctor right after this practice.

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau was disappointed that Gibson was injured, but sees a silver lining in the fact that the team has some off days before facing the Lakers Tuesday.

Hes been nicked up, but he said he was feeling a little bit better than yesterday. Its day-to-day, said Thibodeau, who said the extent of Gibsons participation in Sundays practice was warming up before he was injured. The good thing is we have a couple days without having to play, so I think the rest will help.

Im unsure right now about how he would replace Gibson, added Thibodeau. That would be a game-time decision.
