Once LeBron James announced his decision to return home to Cleveland, there's been nonstop talk about NBA free agency now that the dominoes have started to fall.

And with that, of course, comes more discussions of whether the Bulls will be able to land Carmelo Anthony.

"The Bulls have done everything they can to try and get Carmelo Anthony," Bulls announcer Stacey King said in a phone interview with Comcast SportsNet. "They tried to woo him. Basically, it comes down to this: Do you go back to New York for the money, possibly get past the first or second round every year? Or do you come to Chicago, play with a hungry team, a team that wants to win championships and be the guy that can elevate the Bulls to a serious contender?

"Because if you add Carmelo Anthony to the roster the Bulls already have, that automatically puts them at a top five team in the NBA. And that's what I would be trying to sell to Carmelo: Yeah, you know you're going to be losing a little bit of money by leaving New York, but you've made close to over $200 million already. Do you want to win championships? Do you want to get past the first round every year? If you want to do that, you'll come to Chicago, because there's a legitimate chance now since the Big 3 in Miami has been broken up, the balance of power shifts."

With Miami's core broken up, King points out the increased chances for the Bulls or Indiana Pacers to get to the final.

Plus with the expected return of Derrick Rose, the Bulls can be liking their chances that much more.

"Getting a healthy Derrick Rose is like obtaining a free agent," King said. "He's been out for a year and a half, if he's healthy, it's a huge addition to the Bulls. And if you add Carmelo, the Bulls will be a top five team."
