Jimmy Butler loves the winning attitude Pau Gasol will bring to Chicago.
Gar Forman and the Bulls received their first free agent commitment of the offseason when the 34-year-old Gasol posted on his Twitter account that he had decided to join the Bulls.
Gasol has appeared in 105 career playoff games, three NBA Finals and has won two championships with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. He's also won two silver medals as part of the Spain National Team at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
"A winner. He's got rings," said Butler, when asked what Gasol would bring to the Bulls. "I think that's what everybody on this team and in this organization and this city wants, so he's definitely helping us."
Gasol has long been considered one of the good guys in the NBA, and Butler believes that attitude will make him a perfect fit in the Bulls locker room.
"He's going to fit well. But not just on offense, on defense also. I think he's a high-character guy, I don't think we would bring in any guys that aren't," he said. "I think he's going to be a great fit, a great addition to our team."
And why does Butler believe Gasol chose the Bulls over teams such as the Spurs, Thunder, Lakers and others?
"Because it's a great city, it's a great place to be," he said. "I think he chose the right place to be. He's got a lot of guys that are doing what it takes to win."
