Following a two-game absence after suffering a rib injury in last Friday’s home win over Denver, Jimmy Butler will return to the Bulls’ lineup Wednesday against Golden State at the United Center.
“He’s a go,” said Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, who also confirmed that the swingman will be in the starting lineup against the Warriors,.
The swingman missed the Bulls’ loss Sunday in Miami and Tuesday’s win in Atlanta, so while he won’t be confined to a strict minutes restriction, Thibodeau will keep an eye on Butler’s conditioning.

“We’ll see where he is. Like once he’s out there I think he’ll be fine,” the coach explained. “He’s played very well. He’s getting into very good rhythm offensively, so hopefully he’ll be able to pick-up right where he left off.
“The big thing was he had a good extended stretch where he had played and was able to practice, so I think it allowed him to get back into a very good rhythm. He was comfortable in a lot of different areas. Obviously, running the floor, moving without the ball, some pick-and-roll stuff, much more comfortable in the post. It was a lot of different areas. But I think the big thing was he was able to build rhythm. Hopefully he’ll be able to get back to that,” he added. “Obviously the depth part is huge for us and of course his ability to play multiple positions.”
