As part of our coverage leading up to the 2015 NBA Draft we will provide profiles of more than 60 prospects, including video interviews with each player, what they're saying leading up to draft day as well as their potential fit on the Bulls.

D'Angelo Russell, G, Ohio State

6'5" | 193 lbs. | 19 years old

2014-15 stats:

19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals, 44.9 field-goal percentage, 41.1 3-point percentage

Selection:

First round, second overall to Los Angeles Lakers

Quotable:

“It would be a blessing to be No. 1, but I want to go somewhere where I know I'm going to stick and I can make a legacy and help build a franchise. If that's me going eighth pick, I prefer that, honestly. ... I'd rather be a guy that's a superstar on one team three or four years than be a guy bouncing around that was the No. 1 pick in the draft."

Analysis:

It must have been a tough decision to pass on Jahlil Okafor, but in Russell the Lakers get a combo guard who can learn under Kobe Bryant before eventually taking over for him. This move could also indicate that the Lakers feel good about grabbing a major free agent forward this summer (or DeMarcus Cousins).
